How to Experiment

STEP 1:

Get access to the facility by requesting a FIBRE account.

Do not use "@" in your login name, as it will be configured as [login]@[island].

Select an institution to approve your account request. Please note that RNP works as a "catch-all" island for research and academic institutions.

STEP 2:

You will receive an e-mail message confirming your request (or asking for further clarifications) within 2 business days. If you face any difficulty, please contact us at info @ fibre.org.br

STEP 3:

Set up OpenVPN connection (See instructions here). VPN configuration file: fibre.vpn.zip

If you face problems running OpenVNP on Windows in its first use, run OpenVPN as administrator to create its registry keys.

STEP 4:

Login in the MySlice Portal or in your local island portal and choose what type of experiment do you want to run.

To sign-in in the MySlice Portal, use "loginname@institution"; To sign-in in your local island, type just your loginname.

Please note that each CMF has a different entry point. You can choose among:

• OCF for "wired" experiments (Expedient portal)
  
• OMF for wireless experiments  (Labora scheduler)
• ProtoGENI
